Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German television and film actress best known for her performances in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The only child of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra, she entered the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various shows on television by the time she was just 16. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the film for television that she made Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of the secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominated films that feature models. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable worldwide and national productions over the years. This includes those of the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time and as French Historical Miniseries Napoleon. The actress was also a member of juries for the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
